Farm Description

Experience the past at Fosterfields Living Historical Farm. Life from 1918-1927 is evoked through activities on the farm, in the 1920s Farmhouse, at The Willows, at Miss Foster's cottage, The Temple of Abiding Peace, and in the Transportation Exhibit. Staff and volunteers of the Morris County Park Commission as well as the Friends of Fosterfields and Cooper Mill present the rich agricultural and cultural history of Fosterfields. Dressed in period attire, interpreters explain the lives of Charles Foster, his daughter Caroline, farm laborers, domestics, and the Woods family who resided in the Farmhouse. On the farm, witness seasonal planting, cultivating, and harvesting. Programs are dependent on the soil, weather, and crops. Should conditions prevent scheduled tasks, an alternative program is substituted whenever possible. Enjoy seeing historic breed animals and heirloom vegetables and crops. Visit the restored 1854 Gothic Revival mansion, The Willows, which was the home of the Foster family. The house is open for guided tours during the afternoon. All persons must register for a tour at the reception desk and receive a separate ticket. Regular Farm Admission (including The Willows): $6/Adult; $5/Senior(age 65 & up); $4 Children ages 4 -16; $2 Children ages 2 & 3, and Free for children under age 2 and Friends of Fosterfields and Cooper Mill members with current membership card.
